A couple of months ago, I created a discussion asking about certain composers' masterpieces. I asked the question, "What makes a piece of music the composer's masterpiece?" to make a list of composer masterpieces ranked. I figured this would be a better way to answer my question. I wondered if it's the composer's favorite work, their most famous work, or the work that shows the composer themselves. I considered what Beethoven's masterpiece is and concluded that his 9th symphony is a good option, but it remains subjective. My ideas are below; if you agree with them, upvote them; if you don't, add a new recommendation. Please note that the items below will not be in that order when I create the actual list. I also need recommendations for Brahms, Prokofiev, Rautavaara, Britten, Vaughan Williams, Schnittke, Ligeti, Richard Strauss, Reich, Schoënberg, Berg, Webern, Szymanowski, Khachaturian, Haydn, Telemann, Schumann, Schubert, Mahler, Bruckner, Satie, Barber, etc. Do be sure to check out my lists, follow me, and like what you see!
